Resolutions
I resolve to not have New Year's Resolutions.
I made this resolution a long time ago and it was my last one.
I did "The Prayers of the People" at service Sunday. I said I do not believe in New Year's Resolutions because for one thing, I like to put myself in a position to succeed. People chuckled. I said all it does is set us up for failure, which then causes us to beat ourselves up. Instead, keep a little list of things you want to work on throughout the year.
A lady came up to me after service and said she was going to try my approach. She felt she had been beating herself up for years for not "living up to" those midnight promises.
God doesn't ask us to try harder starting at midnight every year. We are supposed to be growing minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, month by month.
